BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard towed a disabled boat Tuesday with three people aboard near Annapolis.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region received a distress call over VHF-FM marine channel 16 from a boater aboard a 23-foot boat stating his boat was disabled and hitting the rocks from a jetty.
Sector Maryland-National Capital Region launched a crew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station Annapolis.
“We put them into a tow from our bow and pulled them into deeper water,” said Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Colin Burr, crew member aboard the 45-foot RBM. “Once they were out of danger, we put their boat in a side tow and moored them up at Rod and Reel Marina.”
No injuries were reported.
