Coast Guard sets security zone in Milwaukee Harbor for President Obama’s visit

Great Lakes Coast Guard NewsMILWAUKEE — The Coast Guard and the Milwaukee Police Department will be enforcing a security zone in the Milwaukee Harbor, Saturday afternoon, during President Obama’s visit to Milwaukee.

Boatcrews from Coast Guard Station Milwaukee and officers from the Milwaukee Police Department will be enforcing a security zone around the Summerfest grounds during the planned presidential rally. The security zone will include the Discovery World Basin, Harbor Island Lagoon, and the harbor waters immediately surrounding Lakeshore State Park from the mouth of the Milwaukee River to Discovery World. Vessels will still be able to transit near the west side of the breakwall.

Entering in, transiting through, or anchoring within the security zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port representative on scene.
