HONOLULU – The Coast Guard is seeking the public’s assistance after receiving a report of an unmanned and adrift vessel approximately seven miles south of Pearl Harbor, Saturday.

The passenger vessel Sashimi I and the passenger vessel Reel Intent reported a small mono-hull white and light blue sailing vessel with a red broken mast adrift approximately seven miles offshore south of Pearl Harbor.

A 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Coast Guard Station Honolulu and a Coast Guard Auxiliary crew investigated, recovered the vessel and monitored the area.

The Coast Guard is not actively searching and no one has been reported to be missing or in distress in the area.

The Coast Guard advises the public to register and label all watercraft and equipment with contact information in order to quickly account for owners and prevent any unnecessary searches.

Anyone with information that may help identify the owner of the sailing vessel is asked to contact the Coast Guard Sector Honolulu Command Center at (808) 842-2600.
