Coast Guard Sector San Diego aircrew medevacs ailing man from vessel

SAN DIEGO — A Coast Guard Sector San Diego aircrew medically evacuated an ailing 62-year-old man from a fishing vessel approximately 184 miles off the coast of San Diego, Saturday.

The crew of the fishing vessel Tribute requested Coast Guard assistance at 2:35 p.m., for the man who was experiencing stroke-like symptoms.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew launched from Coast Guard Sector San Diego, hoisted the man and transported the man to Sector San Diego, where he was transferred to emergency medical personnel for further care.
