MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. — Capt. Gregory Fuller relieved Capt. Arthur Snyder as commander of Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay in a change-of-command ceremony at the sector Thursday.
Fuller will now oversee operations in the navigable waters from the California/Oregon border to the Sonoma/Mendocino county line.
Snyder’s next assignment will be as chief of response at the Coast Guard 11th District in Alameda, California.
Rear Adm. Todd A. Sokalzuk, Coast Guard 11th District commander, presided over the ceremony.
“I am truly honored to be standing here and feel like I am coming home back to Humboldt Bay,” said Fuller. “I look forward to serving the crew of Sector Humboldt Bay and the communities of the north coast.”
Prior to the change of command, Fuller was the senior Coast Guard advisor to the commander of Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security Joint Task Force East in Colorado.
