PHILADELPHIA — Members of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay are scheduled to hold a change-of-command ceremony 10 a.m. Friday at Penn’s Landing Caterers in Philadelphia.
Capt. Kathy Moore, who has served as the sector commander since May 2012, will be relieved by Capt. Benjamin Cooper, who has served as the deputy commander of Sector Delaware Bay since July 2013.
As commander of Sector Delaware Bay, Cooper will be responsible for search and rescue, ports, waterways and coastal security, aids to navigation, maritime law enforcement, pollution response, commercial vessel safety and icebreaking in his area of responsibility.
Rear Adm. Stephen P. Metruck, the commander of the 5th Coast Guard District, will preside over the ceremony.
