PHILADELPHIA — The Coast Guard is searching off South Jersey for a 75-year-old missing boater Saturday.
The man was reportedly fishing approximately 17 miles east of Barnegat Light, New Jersey.
The man’s wife contacted Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light at approximately 6 p.m. Friday when he did not return as scheduled.
Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay command center in Philadelphia launched multiple units to conduct search patterns.
A C-130 aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City located the man’s 22-foot pleasure craft, Tranquility, Saturday at approximately 4:30 a.m. A boat crew from Station Barnegat Light got on scene to inspect the boat at approximately 5:30 a.m. The search for the missing man continues.
