Coast Guard searching near Michigan City Lighthouse for missing teenagers

CLEVELAND – U.S. Coast Guard crews are searching the waters near the Michigan City, Ind., Lighthouse for two teenage boys who were last seen struggling while swimming on the east side of the lighthouse at about 6:20 p.m. CST, August 22, 2010.

Upon receiving the distress call, Coast Guard Station Michigan City immediately launched a 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew and began searching the area.

A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Facility Muskegon is searching as well.

The teenagers were reportedly not wearing lifejackets.

The weather in the area is approximately 3-4 foot waves and 14-mph winds.
