CLEVELAND — The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for two people who were last seen on an inflatable raft approximately 500 yards offshore of North Kingsville, Ohio, late Monday.
The reporting source said that one individual on the raft jumped into the water and tried swimming the raft to shore; the reporting source lost sight of the reported people in distress shortly thereafter.
Coast Guard Station Ashtabula launched a 25-foot Response Boat-Small and Coast Guard Air Station Detroit launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter to search for the people in distress. Coast Guard crews will continue to search through the night.
