Coast Guard searching for possible overdue boater

BOSTON – Coast Guard crews are searching for a man reported overdue today in Point Judith, R.I.

Reported overdue is Jim Floroski, 60, of Connecticut.

Floroski owns the 23-foot pleasure boat Sargent Slaughter which is dark green with white trim.

Floroski was reported overdue by one of the three friends he was expected to meet at the Great Island boat ramp in Point Judith at 7 a.m.

He was last seen Friday when he dropped a friend off at the Great Island boat ramp before heading to Point Judith Harbor of Refuge.

Boat crews from Coast Guard Stations Point Judith and Block Island are searching around Great Island, Point Judith Harbor of Refuge, and Block Island, R.I. Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England issued an urgent marine broadcast requesting anyone with information contact the Coast Guard. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound is also calling local commercial salvagers and police stations and Station New London, CT., is making radio calls on VHF-FM Channel 68.
