BOSTON — The Coast Guard is searching for a possible missing 16-year-old boy near Conimicut Point, R.I., Sunday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England in Woods Hole, Mass., received a call at approximately 5 p.m. Sunday, from 911 dispatch reporting that a 16-year-old boy with brown hair and red swimming trunks was swept off the beach at Conimicut Point.
Currently searching are a Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Mass., MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew, a Coast Guard Station Castle Hill, R.I., 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew and the Rhode Island Marine Task Force.
Anyone with information about the missing person is requested to contact the Coast Guard at 508-457-3211 or on VHF Channel 16.
