CLEVELAND — The Coast Guard is seeking the public’s assistance regarding information concerning a person possibly missing in the Detroit River in the vicinity of the Trenton Channel.
The Coast Guard is looking for amplifying information regarding a person possibly in the water. There is no current report of distress or reports of a missing person.
A search-and-rescue coordinator from Coast Guard Sector Detroit received a call for assistance from the Wyandotte, Mich., Police Department stating a pile of clothing including a work jacket, work boots, shirt and eyeglasses placed on a bench along the Trenton Channel on the Detroit River. No other information was available.
There are three Coast Guard Auxiliary boatcrews, one rescue boatcrew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station Belle Isle, Mich., and a rescue aircrew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Detroit currently searching the waters in the vicinity of the Trenton Channel.
