Coast Guard searching for owner of overturned Seadoo in West Grand Traverse Bay

CLEVELAND — The Coast Guard 9th District is request help in the search for the owner of an overturned Seadoo with keys in the ignition found in West Grand Traverse Bay, Friday.

Rescue crews from Coast Guard Station Charlevoix, Michigan, and Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City, Michigan, are searching aboard a 45-foot response boat and a Dolphin rescue helicopter.

A Good Samaritan discovered the overturned, 8-foot, black and yellow Seadoo near buoy 6 and reported it to a watch stander at Coast Guard Sector Sault Ste Marie, Michigan at about 6 p.m., Friday.

The Seadoo, registration number MC5241RR, is no longer registered to the correct owner. Any members of the public with information on the owner’s whereabouts are requested to contact the 9th District Command Center At 216-902-6117.
