MIAMI – An HU-25 Falcon jet from Coast Guard Air Station Miami is currently searching for a 65-year-old man and his sailboat, Teacher’s Pet, in the vicinity of Lake Worth Inlet, Fla.
Alan Lavoie departed for the West End, Bahamas, from Port Everglades, Fla., yesterday with a group of four other vessels. The reporting source stated shortly after the group departed the seas became too rough and all five vessels decided to return to Port Everglades. All but the Teacher’s Pet safely returned.
Lavoie was traveling on his boat alone and lives on the 27-foot sailboat in Marathon, Fla.
