Coast Guard searching for overdue sailboat with 3 people aboard

MIAMI – Coast Guard crews are searching for three people aboard a 47-foot sailing vessel Monday, after failing to check in to their final destination of Bimini, Bahamas, Sunday.

Search and rescue coordinators at the Seventh District Command Center in Miami received a call from a family member stating the vessel, Hide Away, failed to check in as scheduled Sunday. Charles and Trudy Millburg of Niceville, Fla., and Martha Hinds of Sanibel Island, Fla., reportedly departed Key Largo, Fla., Saturday and were to arrive in Bimini no later than noon Sunday.

Coast Guard Air Station Miami aircrews aboard a HU-25 Falcon jet and a HH-65 Dolphin helicopter are searching for the Hide Away.
