ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard is searching for three overdue boaters Tuesday off the coast of South Jersey after the boaters failed to return from an overnight fishing trip.
The three boaters departed Tuckerton at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday aboard a white, 28-foot pleasure craft.
The three boaters were due to return at approximately 6 a.m.
One of the three boaters is identified as Trevor Daniels. According to the report, Daniels informed his father that he and his companions were going fishing 60 miles offshore. When they did not return as scheduled, Daniels’ father contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay.
A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City has been launched to search for the overdue boaters.
The Coast Guard strongly urges boaters to file a float plan before hitting the water.
