Coast Guard searching for missing paddle boarder off St. Augustine Beach

St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville of the situation at around 11 p.m., Sunday, reporting that the man told his wife that he’d return around 6 p.m. When he didn’t, she notified the sheriff’s office.

The Coast Guard is searching with crews aboard the following assets:

  • A 45-foot Response Boast – Medium from Coast Guard Station Mayport,
  • An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, and
  • The 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Shrike, homeported in Port Canaveral
