Coast Guard searching for missing Miami man

MIAMI — The Coast Guard is searching for a man reported overdue after he did not return from a fishing trip Saturday.
Missing is Robert Garcia of Miami.

Coast Guard Sector Key West, Florida, watchstanders received a report from Garcia’s wife stating that he left Key West City Marina on a fishing trip Saturday morning and never returned Saturday night as planned.

Garcia was aboard the Miss Juliette, a 28-foot white center console vessel with a yellow stripe.

A Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew and a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater HC-130 Hercules aircraft crew have been actively searching. The Coast Guard Cutters Margaret Norvelle and Yellowfin have also conducted searches.

The Coast Guard Cutter Margaret Norvell is a 154-foot Fast Response Cutter homeported in Miami.

The Coast Guard Cutter Yellowfin is a 87-foot patrol boat homeported in Charleston, South Carolina.
