BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and local agencies are searching for a 23-year-old man Wednesday after his kayak was found overturned in the Potomac River.
Missing is Jeryll Dickerson.
A friend of Dickerson contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes at approximately 12:30 p.m. reporting Dickerson missing after last being seen at 7:30 a.m. kayaking on the Potomac River.
A Westmoreland fire rescue boatcrew located the man’s overturned kayak on the river.
Responding crews include a crew aboard a 29-foot Response Boat – Small from Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes, an aircrew aboard an HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, a Westmoreland fire rescue boatcrew, Maryland Natural Resources Police boatcrews, a St. Mary’s County fire rescue boat crew and a Maryland State Police helicopter aircrew.
