SEATTLE — The Coast Guard is searching for a missing person approximately 30 miles west of La Push, Wash., Friday.
The missing person was one of four crewmembers on board the 40-foot fishing vessel Maverick, which was involved in a collision with the 90-foot fishing vessel Viking Storm. The Maverick sank as a result of the collision and three of the four crewmembers were recovered by the crew of the Viking Storm.
The Coast Guard has diverted and deployed multiple assets to the scene to search for the missing person including the Coast Guard Cutter Alert, a 210-foot Medium Endurance Cutter from Astoria, Ore., Coast Guard Cutter Chandeleur, a 110-foot patrol boat based in Ketchikan, Alaska, an MH-65C helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., and a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Coast Guard Station Quillayute River.
The three crewmembers rescued by the Viking Storm were transferred to the Alert. The crewmembers were reported to be in stable condition.
