Coast Guard searching for missing boater near Lake Worth Inlet

MIAMI — The Coast Guard is searching for a missing boater Wednesday near Lake Worth Inlet.

Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector Miami Command Center received a call reporting a 60-year-old boater fell overboard while transiting into Lake Worth Inlet and not resurfacing.

The watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast, directed the launch of two Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet boat crews and a Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to search from Lake Worth Inlet to Jupiter Inlet.

Also assisting in the search is the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office.
