SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The Coast Guard is searching for a 75-year-old man off the coast of Laguna Beach, Calif., after his sailboat was found adrift Aug. 1.
Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach was notified at approximately 3 a.m. Wednesday that the boater was overdue from Dana Point, Calif. His 28-foot sailing vessel was located by Laguna Beach Lifeguards.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Los Angeles and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Sector San Diego, as well as a 45-foot rescue boat from Station Los Angeles-Long Beach are currently searching the area.
Orange County Sherriff’s Department also has crews searching.
