JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard, along with local agencies, is searching Saturday for a missing boater near Daytona Beach.
Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Command Center watchstanders were notified by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office at 10:29 a.m. of an unmanned 32-foot vessel was found on the beach.
Coast Guard crews searching are:
- A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter launched at 11:11 a.m.
- A Coast Guard Station Ponce de Leon 45-foot Response Boat–Medium launched at 10:30 a.m.
- The Coast Guard Cutter Sawfish, an 87-foot patrol boat homeported in Mayport, is en route to join the search.
