NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard is searching for a missing boater today in the area of Whiskey Cannal between Lake Cataouatche and Lake Salvador southwest of New Orleans here.
The Jefferson Parish Sherrif’s Office notified the Coast Guard that William Adams, 47, was aboard a 15-foot flat bottom boat and scheduled to transist the canal after his concerned girlfriend notified the JPSO that he had not returned from the trip, which should have taken two hours.
Searching is an HH-65C helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans.
