PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard and Virginia Marine Resources Commission are searching for a 6-year-old boy Sunday who was last seen swimming off Cape Charles Beach.
A 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew and 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Cape Charles and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City are searching along with VMRC response boat crews and divers.
Lifeguards and good Samaritan jet skiers are helping with the search.
Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is on shore with the missing boy’s family.
