Coast Guard searching for man off cruise ship 35 miles south of Islamorada

MIAMI — The Coast Guard is searching for a 26-year-old man who reportedly went overboard from the Carnival Victory cruise ship Friday 35 miles south of Islamorada.

Watchstanders with the Coast Guard 7th District command center received a call from the cruise ship stating a passenger had reportedly went overboard.

Coast Guard crews searching are:

  • Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter
  • Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry
  • Coast Guard Cutter Charles David, Jr. (WPC-1107)

The cruise ship’s next port of call is Miami.
