Coast Guard searching for man missing in Sabine River

HOUSTON – The Coast Guard is searching for a 37-year-old man who went missing off a tug-boat in the Sabine River near Echo, Texas today.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Houston/Galveston received a call at 6:20 a.m. from the captain of the tow boat C.W. Rushing. The captain reported that one of his crewmembers had gone missing; the last time he had been seen was at 2:30 a.m. at the Buzzi Cement Dock in Echo.

Coast Guard Air Station Houston launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew, and Station Sabine, Texas, dispatched a rescue boat crew to search for the man along the Sabine River near Echo.

The man who went missing is described as being five-feet, ten inches tall, wearing brown pants and shirt.
