NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Coast Guard is searching for a missing 42-year-old man in the James River near Fort Eustis, Monday.
The man was reportedly wearing brown shorts and a white T-shirt at the time of his disappearance.
Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads watchstanders received a call at approximately 4:30 p.m., from Newport News dispatch, reporting the man missing from a 22-foot sailing vessel.
Sector Hampton Roads issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched rescue boat crews from Coast Guard Station Portsmouth and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City.
Virginia Marine Resource Commission and Newport News Fire Department are also searching.
