SANTA CRUZ ISLAND, Calif. — The Coast Guard is searching for a 27-year-old male diver that was reported missing north of Frasier Point off Santa Cruz Island Saturday.

Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received the call for help from the vessel Golden Child midday Saturday and immediately dispatched a MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles, a 47-foot Motor Life Boat from Coast Guard Station Channel Islands Harbor, and the Coast Guard Cutter Blackfin, homeported in Santa Barbara.

The diver was reported overdue when he did not return from a dive of 20 feet for approximately an hour and a half. He is reported to be wearing a black wet suit, SCUBA gear, and a silver oxygen tank.
