SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The Coast Guard is conducting an ongoing search for a twenty-six foot Ranger-style pleasure craft that was reported disabled during a voyage from Avalon Harbor on Catalina Island to Alamitos Bay Harbor in Long Beach. Owner Donald Stone is reported among the two persons reported on board.
A Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles MH-65 rescue helicopter, an L.A .County Sheriff vessel, and Baywatch Avalon are currently conducting the search between Alamitos Bay and Avalon Harbor.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts or status of the vessel or individuals aboard, should contact Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach at 310-521-3801 or 911 immediately.
The Coast Guard reminds the boating public of the importance of having a working VHF marine radio, as well as life jackets, flares, and other life saving equipment onboard whenever out on the water.
