ORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard is assisting the Portsmouth Fire Department in searching for a 15-year-old boy, Thursday, in Baines Creek near City Park in Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Fire Department personnel contacted Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads Command Center watchstanders at approximately 2:20 p.m. relaying information from multiple sources of a boy in the water.
Sector Hampton Roads watchstanders dispatched a 25-foot Response Boat – Small from Coast Guard Station Portsmouth to assist.
Portsmouth Police Department, Chesapeake Police Department and Virginia Marine Police are also assisting in the search.
