Coast Guard Searching for Boater From Capsized Vessel

MIAMI — The Coast Guard is searching for a boater whose vessel was found overturned about seven miles north of Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands, Tuesday afternoon.

Coast Guard search and rescue coordinaters at Sector San Juan, Puerto Rico, received a telephone call from the wife of James Logie from the British Virgin Islands, around 6 p.m. Monday reporting that he and his 20-foot fishing vessel One Last Cast were overdue.

Logie’s wife said he left from Marina Cay, British Virgin Islands, around 10 a.m. Monday and was scheduled to return around 2 p.m. Monday.

An HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Borinquen, Puerto Rico, an HC-130 Hercules aircraft crew from Air Station Clearwater, Fla., and boat crews from the Virgin Islands Search and Rescue unit were all launched to search for Logie.
