Several San Diego media outlets are reporting this morning that the Coast Guard is searching off Point Loma for 4 people who were on a boat that was sinking.
According to the reports, a distress call came in around 3:30 a.m that the vessel, with 2 adults and 2 children on board, was taking on water.
The Coast Guard began searching about 5 miles off Point Loma with both a helicopter from Air Station San Diego and surface craft according to the reports.
The missing people are believed to have abandoned their boat and are now in a life raft.
