MIAMI — The Coast Guard is searching for two missing divers Saturday afternoon about two-and-a-half miles north of the Fowey Rocks.
Coast Guard Sector Miami search-and-rescue coordinators received notification around 3:40 p.m. Saturday stating the two male free divers had not returned to their 17-foot boat.
According to the report, both divers were carrying spearguns, one diver was wearing a black-and-blue wetsuit, and the other was wearing a camouflage wetsuit.
Involved in the search are:
- A Coast Guard Station Miami Beach, Fla., 41-foot Utility Boat crew
- A Coast Guard Station Miami Beach 25-foot boatcrew
- The crew of the 110-foot Coast Guard Cutter Diamondback
- A Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew
- A Coast Guard Auxiliary boatcrew
- A City of Miami Fireboat crew
- Biscayne Marine Patrol
- A Miami-Dade Police Department helicopter crew
