Coast Guard searches for two Dominican fishermen after their vessel capsizes at sea

San Juan, Puerto Rico – Coast Guard rescue crews are searching for two Dominican fishermen Tuesday, after their fishing boat reportedly capsized Monday evening approximately 17 nautical miles southwest of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The Coast Guard Liaison at the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo notified the Sector San Juan Command Center of a request for assistance from Dominican Republic authorities for the Coast Guard to assist them with the search efforts.
A Coast Guard rescue crew flying a HU-25 Falcon Jet from Air Station Mobile, Ala. is searching waters southwest of Santo Domingo alongside Dominican Republic Naval authorities for the missing fishermen. Dominican Republic Navy and Air Force authorities have been searching since Monday with aircraft and patrol boats and are working in coordination with the Coast Guard.
