SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Coast Guard and Puerto Rico Police are searching Thursday for a surfer reportedly missing in waters off Escambrón Beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Coast Guard watchstanders in Sector San Juan received a telephone call Thursday morning from a 911 emergency operator, who relayed a report from a Good Samaritan at the scene, who claimed loosing visual contact with the surfer in the water.
Searching are:
- A rescue aircrew aboard a Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Borinquen in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
- A Coast Guard Boat Station San Juan boat crew aboard a Coast Guard 33-foot Response Boat.
- Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces for Rapid Action air units.
- San Juan Municipal Police air and boat crews.
