NEW York – Coast Guard Station New York, with assistance from the NYPD Harbor Unit, NYFD and the U.S. Park Police continue the search for a man who jumped off the Staten Island Spirit of America Ferry around 1:10 a.m. this morning.
A ferry’s mate witnessed the passenger jump into the water near Governors Island. He was described as a black male 6′ foot tall and approximately 35 years old, wearing a grey sweatshirt
Rescue crews have searched throughout the night. A helicopter search is scheduled for first light.
