Coast Guard searches for person in water

BOSTON – The Coast Guard is searching for a person who fell overboard from a passenger vessel around 9 p.m. in the Fore River in Portland, Maine,  last night.Coast Guard Sector Northern New England received a phone call around 9:07 p.m. reporting that a passenger wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt aboard the Casablanca, homeported in Portland, Maine, had fallen overboard near the Portland State Pier.

Searching are: a Jayhawk rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Cape Cod, two 25-foot boat crew from Coast Guard Station South Portland, Portland Harbormaster, Portland fire department and Cape Elizabeth WET Team.
