PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Coast Guard is searching for one overdue boater who reportedly did not return home after a fishing trip, Saturday, near south of Pensacola Pass.
Missing is Lee Kent, 41.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., Sunday, Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Ala., watchstanders received an overdue vessel report from a family member reporting that Kent did not return home after a fishing trip aboard a 37-foot white Boston Whaler named Monkey Bar II.
Currently searching are:
- Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144A Ocean Sentry and crew;
- Coast Guard Cutter Seahawk, an 87-foot patrol boat homeported in Carrabelle, Fla., and crew;
“We are searching an area larger than Maryland in order to locate Kent,” said Ensign Torry James, public affairs officer with Sector Mobile. “We have searched for approximately 18 hours offshore Pensacola Pass. ”
The Coast Guard has also issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast to mariners in the area.
