KNOTTS ISLAND, N.C. — The Coast Guard is searching for a 35-year-old woman with blond hair, yellow shorts and a black t-shirt who went missing Monday in the vicinity of Knotts Island.
The missing woman was reported to have been on a boat with two other people when it capsized at approximately 11:00 a.m.
At 4:45 p.m., a good Samaritan pulled two of the people from the water and notified Currituck County Dispatch, who then called watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina.
A HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City and a rescue boat from Coast Guard Station Elizabeth City were dispatched to look for the missing woman, along with the Currituck County fire department and local volunteers.
