MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for two male stowaways in the Mobile River, near the McDuffy Coal Terminal, who went missing Monday, after reportedly jumping from a motor vessel.
Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report from the Alabama State Port Authority at approximately 12:30 a.m., Tuesday, that two stowaways jumped from the motor vessel Crimson Tide at approximately 6 a.m, Monday.
Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an MH-65C rescue helicopter and crew and is currently searching along with the Alabama Marine Police.
An Urgent Marine Information Broadcast has been issued for the area, and all marine traffic are urged to use caution when transiting the Mobile River.
