Coast Guard searches for missing man near Half Moon Bay, Calif.

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Coast Guard and other emergency response agencies are searching for a 22 year-old man reported missing in the waters around Half Moon Bay near Pillar Point.

The man, wearing a black t-shirt and shorts, was reportedly playing football on the beach Roosevelt Beach with a friend and was last seen in the surf at approximately 2:48 p.m.

The search is being conducted by a helicopter rescue crew from Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco, a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Golden Gate, as well as crews from the San Mateo County Sheriffs Department and Pillar Point Harbormaster.
