ALAMEDA, Calif. – The U.S. Coast Guard is assisting the Mexican Navy in the search for a 54-year-old female diver 75 mile west the Sorocco Islands, Mexico.
Air Station Sacramento is scheduled to launch a C-130 cargo airplane at 2 a.m. The Coast Guard Command Center is providing the Mexican Navy with operational support.
The missing diver was apart of a three person dive team from the Panamanian vessel Somer V. The diver went into the water at 8 a.m., and did not resurface. The owner of a nearby dive vessel notified the U.S. Coast Guard.
The missing diver is a U.S. citizen.
The Sorocco Islands are approximately 300 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
