Coast Guard Searches for Missing Diver

HONOLULU – U.S. Coast Guard assets are actively searching for a diver who went missing off the Kaaawa Reef at 4:10 p.m. Saturday.

A rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Barber’s Point and the crew from Coast Guard Cutter Ahi are searching around a five mile shoreline search off of the Kaaawa Reef. Rescue personnel are looking for any signs of a missing diver who was wearing black swim shorts and reported to have lost his fins. The diver was separated from his group.

Honolulu Fire Department personnel contacted the Coast Guard at 5:28 p.m., shortly after the diver was reported missing.

Coast Guard will be actively searching throughout the night.
