Coast Guard searches for 2 near Terrebonne Bay

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is searching for a man and a woman who reportedly went missing, Saturday, while fishing on Lake Tambour, La., just north of Terrebonne Bay.

Missing are Todd Portier and Danna Petre, both from the Terrebonne area.

At about 12 p.m., Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received an overdue vessel report from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Department stating that Portier and Petre were last known to be aboard a white 21-foot Carolina Skiff and departed for a fishing trip at about 5 p.m., Friday.

Portier and Petre did not return Saturday as expected.

Currently searching are:
Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65C rescue helicopter and crew;
Coast Guard Station Grand Isle 24-foot small boat and crew;
Marine units from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Department;

Also, an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast was issued to mariners in the area.
