Coast Guard searches for 1 missing near Point Sal State Beach

Morro Bay 47LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard is searching for a missing man after he was swept off the beach near Point Sal State Beach Sunday.

The man was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue pants.

At 4:32 p.m., Sunday, watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach Command Center in Long Beach received a report that a man submerged under water and did not resurface. Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach

The Coast Guard launched a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew from Coast Guard Station Morro Bay, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles, the Coast Guard Cutter Blacktip, homeported in Channel Islands Harbor, along with surface assets from Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department and Cal Fire to search for the missing man.
