Coast Guard schedules public meetings for proposed America’s Cup regulation

11th Coast Guard District NewsSAN FRANCISCO – Coast Guard personnel from Sector San Francisco are scheduled to hold three public meetings concerning the proposed special local regulation in the Federal Register for the 34th America’s Cup and related races that are planned to take place in San Francisco Bay between August and September 2012 and between July and September 2013.

WHO: Capt. Matt Bliven, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Principal Coordinator for the 34th America’s Cup.

WHAT: Three public meetings to explain the proposed regulation for the 34th America’s Cup that would temporarily reroute vessel traffic between the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island and create regulated areas where races are planned.

WHERE: The meetings will begin at 6 p.m., each day at the designated locations.
