Coast Guard saves two and searches for a third near Graves Light

BOSTON- The Coast Guard is searching for a man off of Graves Light in Boston Harbor.

Coast Guard Sector Boston received notification on VHF-FM channel 16 that a 21-foot pleasure craft with three people aboard was taking on water at around 6:50 p.m.

Coast Guard Station Point Allerton launched a 25-foot rescue-boat crew and once on scene they transferred two of the people from the pleasure craft to the rescue vessel and were told that a third had tried to swim toward Graves Light.

A rescue helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod is en route and will assist in the search. There is also a MassPort Fire Department vessel on scene along with a private towing company assisting in the search.
