Coast Guard saves three men from capsized vessel in Crystal River

7th Coast Guard District NewsCRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. — A Coast Guard Station Yankeetown boatcrew safely rescued three men off their vessel that capsized in the Florida Power Corporation Channel in Crystal River Thursday.

Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received notification that three men were sitting on the hull of their capsized 21-foot vessel and quickly ordered Coast Guard Station Yankeetown to launch a rescue boatcrew.

Station Yankeetown launched a 27-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew who upon arrival safely took the three stranded men off their capsized vessel and aboard the RB-M.

No injuries were reported.

The owner of the vessel has been advised of his responsibility to salvage and mark the vessel.
