BOSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a sick woman from a sailboat Monday near Cuttyhunk Island, Massachusetts.
At about 7 p.m., the woman’s husband called watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England reporting that his wife was suffering abdominal pains and needed assistance.
A 45-foot boat crew from Coast Guard Station Woods Hole launched at about 7:20 p.m. They arrived at the 46-foot sailboat and transferred the woman aboard.
The boat crew transported her back to Woods Hole where Falmouth Emergency Medical Services were standing by to take her to the hospital.
The woman is reported to be in stable condition.
